BÖHLER CN 25/9 CuT-IG is a TIG rod for welding duplex and superduplex stainless steels. It works on chemical installations, desalination plant, tanks and offshore structures in two phase steels.
The rod suits grades such as 1.4501. It goes onto offshore structures where the joint works in seawater, and into chemical, paper and marine plant on parts loaded both mechanically and by corrosion.

Watch the heat input and the interpass temperature, overheating duplex upsets the balance between ferrite and austenite in the weld. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Match the diameter to the plate thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
