Thermanit 25/04 is a high-alloyed austenitic stainless solid wire. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
It joins grades such as 1.4347, 1.4340, 1.4745, 1.4746, X8CrTi25, 1.4762 and 1.4776 together with their equivalents. The wire runs under shielding gas on tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion.
