What Thermanit 30/10 solid MIG/MAG wire is used for

Thermanit 30/10 is a high-alloyed austenitic stainless solid wire. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.

Among the parent materials it covers 1.3401, X120Mn12, 1.4006, X10Cr13, 1.4339, 1.4340 and 1.4347. The wire also suits cladding runs on steel, and the deposit has an austenitic structure.

  • Classification EN ISO: 14343-A G 29 9
  • AWS classification: A5.9 / SFA-5.9 ER312
  • Shielding gas: M12, M13
  • Diameters: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 2.0 mm

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
