Thermanit 309L Mo is a TIG rod for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. Typical work covers tanks, process installations, food and chemical industry equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean, smooth weld. The rod also suits cladding runs, that is protective layers built up on steel.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the bead face. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Match the diameter to the plate thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
