Thermanit 310 Mn is a high alloyed austenitic stainless TIG rod. It is used on process installations, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.
The rod joins grades such as 1.4586, 1.4710, 1.4713, X10CrAl7, 1.4724, X10CrAl13 and 1.4740, along with related materials. It also suits cladding runs on steel and is used on boilers and pressure vessels under statutory inspection.

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop.
