Thermanit 310 is a high alloyed austenitic stainless TIG rod. It works on pressure vessels, pipework and austenitic steel structures where corrosion resistance matters.
The rod joins materials such as 1.4845. Its deposit has an austenitic structure that resists corrosion, and the rod goes into tanks, process pipelines and equipment for the chemical and food industries.

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Match the diameter to the plate thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
