Thermanit D is a solid MIG/MAG wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
Typical parent materials are 1.4828 and AISI 305. The wire also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces, on tanks, process plant and equipment in contact with water and steam.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
