What Thermanit H-347 solid MIG/MAG wire is used for

Thermanit H-347 is a high-alloyed austenitic stainless solid wire. It is used on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.

Among the parent materials it covers 1.4301, X5CrNi18-10, 1.4306, X2CrNi19-11, 1.4311, 1.4312 and 1.4541. The wire also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces, and the deposit has an austenitic structure.

  • Classification EN ISO: 14343-A 19 9 Nb
  • AWS classification: A5.9 / SFA-5.9 ER347
  • Shielding gas: M12, M13
  • Diameters: 1.2 / 1.5 mm

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
