Thermanit H-347 Si is a high-alloyed austenitic stainless solid wire. Typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
It joins grades such as 1.4301, X5CrNi18-10, 1.4306, X2CrNi19-11, 1.4311, 1.4312 and 1.4541 together with their equivalents. The wire also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces, and the deposit has an austenitic structure.

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback.
