Union ER 80S-B2 is a TIG rod for welding creep-resistant CrMo steels. It is used in boiler making, on pressure vessels and petrochemical installations.
Base materials include ASTM A182, 1.7335, ASTM A213, ASTM A217, 1.7357, G17CrMo5-5 and ASTM A234. The rod is used on boilers and pressure vessels under statutory inspection, on steam pipelines and refinery installations.

Watch the hydrogen level, dry consumables and a preheated groove are your basic protection against cold cracking. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
