Union I CrMo 910 is a TIG rod for welding creep-resistant CrMo steels. It is used in boiler making, on pressure vessels and petrochemical installations.
Base materials are 1.7380, ASTM A355, 1.7379 and G17CrMo9-10. The rod handles pipeline welding including fill passes, and it is used on boilers, steam pipelines and refinery installations under statutory inspection.
- Classification EN ISO: W CrMo2Si
- AWS classification: ER90S-G
- Diameters: 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 mm
Do not interrupt welding and do not let the joint drop below the interpass temperature before the fill is finished. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
