Union I CrMo is a TIG rod for welding creep-resistant CrMo steels. It is used in boiler making, on pressure vessels and petrochemical installations.
The rod joins materials such as 1.7335, 13CrMo4-5, ASTM A193, 1.7357 and G17CrMo5-5. It handles pipeline welding including fill passes and is used on boilers, steam pipelines and refinery installations under statutory inspection.
- Classification EN ISO: W CrMo1Si
- AWS classification: ER80S-G
- Diameters: 0.8 / 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 mm
Plan the preheating and the post weld heat treatment to the WPS for the grade in hand, CrMo steels harden in the heat affected zone. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
