Union I MoMn is a low-alloyed, creep resistant solid wire. It suits welding CrMo steels in power generation, on superheaters, headers and pressure piping in chromium molybdenum steel.
Parent materials are P235GH, P460M, S460N and S460MC. The wire does well on pipe welding, fill passes included, on boilers under technical inspection, and the deposit stands up to creep at elevated temperature.

Plan the preheating and the post weld heat treatment to the WPS for the grade in hand, CrMo steels harden in the heat affected zone. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback.
