Union K NOVA Ni is a solid MIG/MAG wire for mild and low-alloy steels, fine-grained grades included. It is used on steel structures, tanks, machine frames and workshop work on black steel.
Typical parent materials are API5L, L290MB and L415MB. The wire runs well on robot and mechanised stations, on welded structures, halls, frames, machine parts and repairs of structural steel.

Match the voltage to the wire feed speed, too low a setting gives a convex face and no fusion into the edges. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
