What Union TG 55 M flux-cored wire is used for

Union TG 55 M is a rutile flux-cored wire for mild and low-alloy steels, fine-grained grades included. It is used on steel structures, tanks, machine frames and workshop work on black steel.

Among the parent materials it covers S275JR, P235GH, P265GH, P295GH, P355GH, P275N and P355N. All welding positions are open to it, it does well on root runs, and it works on welded structures, halls, frames, machine parts and repairs of structural steel.

  • Classification EN ISO: T 46 4 P M 1 H10 / T 42 2 P
  • AWS classification: E71T-1MJH8 / E71T-1CH8
  • Diameters: 1.2 mm

On thicker parts and in a cold workshop plan preheating to cut the risk of cold cracking. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions.
