Application

What UTP 7015 Mo stick electrode is used for

UTP 7015 Mo is a basic coated nickel base electrode of the E Ni 6093 / ENiCrFe-2 type. The manufacturer intended it for joining heat resistant NiCrFe alloys, heat resistant austenitic steels, nickel steels for low temperature service and heat resistant austenitic-ferritic steels. The electrode also suits joining 25/35 CrNi cast steel with a high carbon content to the grades 1.4859 or 1.4876 in petrochemical plants and in industrial furnaces working up to 900 degrees C.

The base materials are 2.4816, 1.4583 (X10CrNiMoNb18-12), 1.4876 (X10NiCrTiAl32-20) and 1.4941. Dissimilar joints between low alloy CMn steels such as S235JR, S355N or 16Mo3 and the alloys named above are possible as well. The deposit resists hot cracking, does not turn brittle and keeps its scaling and corrosion resistance at elevated temperature.

  • Classification EN ISO 14172: E Ni 6093 (NiCr15Fe8NbMo)
  • AWS classification A5.11 / SFA-5.11: ENiCrFe-2
  • Coating: basic
  • Current: DC+
  • Diameters: 2.5 / 3.2 / 4.0 / 5.0 mm
  • Lengths: 300, 350 and 400 mm
  • Approvals: TÜV (05259), DNV

When joining high carbon furnace castings to alloy tube, heat the part slowly and evenly, because castings crack under thermal shock. Run the bead narrow and hold a constant speed, and the dilution stays under control. In industrial furnaces the welds work through heating and cooling cycles, so avoid notches and sharp transitions in the weld face. Store the electrodes dry and bake them to the instructions.
