UTP 80 M is a basic coated nickel base electrode of the E Ni 4060 / ENiCu-7 type. The manufacturer intended it for welding and surfacing nickel copper alloys and steels clad with them, above all the grades 2.4360 (NiCu30Fe) and 2.4375 (NiCu30Al). The electrode also suits dissimilar joints: steel to copper and copper alloys, and steel to nickel copper alloys.
Materials of this kind work in apparatus for the chemical and petrochemical industries, and a separate field is seawater evaporation plants and marine equipment, because the deposit takes contact with seawater. The arc is soft and stable, the slag comes off easily and the weld surface comes out smooth. Welding is done in all positions except vertical-down.

A nickel copper alloy carries the heat away faster than stainless steel, so on heavier sections preheat the part rather than raising the current. The pool is thick, so guide the electrode slowly and see to it that the groove faces have time to fuse. On clad plate weld the steel layer first and add the cladding at the end, after cleaning the transition. Smooth the surfaces that work in seawater, because crevice corrosion starts in notches.
