UTP A 2535 Nb is a TIG rod for joining and building up on identical and similar high heat resistant CrNi cast steels such as X40 NiCrSiNb 35 25 (1.4852), up to service temperatures of 1150 degrees C.
TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean, smooth weld, so the rod suits root runs and thin walls. It also covers tanks and pipework in nickel alloys and cladding layers on steel.
- Classification EN ISO: 14343 GZ 25 35 Zr
- Diameters: 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm
Move the pool more slowly than on steel, nickel alloys are sluggish and will not flow to the groove edges on their own. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
