UTP A 6225 Al is a TIG rod in a nickel alloy of the NiCrFe-12 type for high heat resistant alloys, with very good corrosion resistance in carburising media. It is used on chemical process equipment, high temperature installations and mixed joints between nickel alloys and steels.
TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean, smooth weld, so the rod suits root runs and thin walls. It works on boiler components, furnace parts and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
- Classification EN ISO: 18274 S Ni 6025 (NiCr25Fe10AlY)
- AWS classification: A5.14 ERNiCrFe-12
- Diameters: 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (10145)
Degrease the joint before welding, because sulphur and lead residues left after machining cause hot cracking in nickel. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
