UTP A 320 is a TIG rod in a copper alloy of the Cu 5410 type. It works on fittings, heat exchangers, bearing shells, slide surfaces and the repair of bronze parts.
The rod suits root runs, thin walls and welds that need a smooth face. Its deposit is copper based, and TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean bead.
- Classification EN ISO: 24373 S Cu 5410 (CuSn12P)
- Diameters: 1.6 / 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 / 4.0 mm
Allow for the high thermal conductivity of copper and preheat heavier sections, otherwise you will not get fusion. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
