UTP A 3422 is a TIG rod in a copper alloy of the Cu 6327 type, for welding and braze welding copper and bronzes. It works on water installations, machine parts, plain bearings and hardfacing on bronze surfaces.
The rod suits root runs, thin walls and welds that need a smooth face, and it also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces. Its copper based deposit goes into casting repairs, industrial fittings and cladding on working surfaces.
- Classification EN ISO: 24373 S Cu 6327 (CuAl8Ni2Fe2Mn2)
- Diameters: 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm
Do not overheat the pool and work at a steady pace, tin bronzes lose alloying elements by evaporation. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
