UTP A 8051 Ti is a TIG rod in a nickel alloy designed for cold welding of cast iron and for dissimilar joints with steels. It repairs housings, machine frames, pulleys and cracked iron castings.
You feed the filler into the pool by hand while the arc burns between the tungsten electrode and the weld, which suits welds that need a smooth face. The rod works on cast repairs, engine blocks and machine parts in grey and ductile iron.
- Classification EN ISO: 1071 S C NiFe-2
- Diameters: 1.6 / 2.4 mm
Weld cold in short beads and peen each one right after it is laid, so the shrinkage stresses are released. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
