UTP A 3545 Nb is a TIG rod in a special NiCr alloy, of the NiCr36Fe15Nb0.8 type, for high heat resistant cast alloys. It works on boiler components, furnace parts, chemical installations and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
You feed the filler into the pool by hand while the arc burns between the tungsten electrode and the weld. The rod also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces, with full control over the heat input.
- Classification EN ISO: 18274 S Ni Z (NiCr36Fe15Nb0.8)
- Diameters: 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm
Move the pool more slowly than on steel, nickel alloys are sluggish and will not flow to the groove edges on their own. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
