UTP A 384 is a TIG rod in a copper alloy of the Cu 6560 type, for welding and braze welding copper and bronzes. It works on water installations, machine parts, plain bearings and hardfacing on bronze surfaces.
You feed the filler into the pool by hand while the arc burns between the tungsten electrode and the weld. The copper based deposit goes into casting repairs, industrial fittings and cladding on working surfaces.
- Classification EN ISO: 24373 S Cu 6560 (CuSi3Mn1)
- AWS classification: A5.7 ERCuSi-A
- Diameters: 1.6 / 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm
Allow for the high thermal conductivity of copper and preheat heavier sections, otherwise you will not get fusion. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
