UTP A 6222 Mo is a TIG rod in a nickel alloy of the NiCrMo-3 type, for corrosion resistant NiCrMo alloys of the 625 group. It works on boiler components, furnace parts, chemical installations and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
The rod suits root runs, thin walls and welds that need a smooth face. It also suits cladding runs, that is protective layers built up on steel.
- Classification EN ISO: 18274 S Ni 6625 (NiCr22Mo9Nb)
- AWS classification: A5.14 ERNiCrMo-3
- Diameters: 1.6 / 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.2 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (03461), DNV, ABS, BV
Move the pool more slowly than on steel, nickel alloys are sluggish and will not flow to the groove edges on their own. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
