UTP A 6225 Al is a solid wire in a nickel alloy of the NiCrFe-12 type for high heat resistant alloys, with very good corrosion resistance in carburising media. It is used on chemical process equipment, high temperature installations and mixed joints between nickel alloys and steels.
The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, on manual and mechanised stations alike. It also covers tanks and pipework made of nickel alloys and cladding layers on steel.
- Classification EN ISO: 18274 S Ni 6025 (NiCr25Fe10AlY)
- AWS classification: A5.14 ER NiCrFe-12
- Diameters: 1.2 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (10135)
Keep the interpass temperature low and limit weaving, nickel is prone to hot cracking. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a stick-out drops the arc voltage and worsens penetration. Set the gas flow so the pool stays covered along the whole bead, and screen the workstation when you weld outdoors. Set current and voltage to the thickness and position, and try them on a test piece before production.
