WEARtig Co 1 is a cobalt alloy TIG rod for hardfacing, with excellent resistance to abrasion combined with corrosion and high temperatures. The hardness is approximately 55 HRC.
The rod is meant for hardfacing surfaces exposed to abrasion and for building up working faces. It rebuilds shafts, rollers, screws and blades, and it is used on farm tools, crusher parts, conveyors, ploughshares and mining machinery. Previously sold as UTP A CELSIT 701 N.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 R Co3
- AWS classification: A 5.21 ER CoCr-C
- Shielding gas: I1
Expect a network of shrinkage cracks in hard overlays, on working deposits this is normal, but it must not reach into the parent material. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads.
