WEARtig Co 12 is a cobalt alloy TIG rod for hardfacing, with excellent resistance to metal to metal and abrasive wear under moderate impact. The hardness is approximately 50 HRC.
TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean, smooth deposit. The rod is meant for hardfacing surfaces exposed to abrasion and for building up working faces in maintenance work, where worn dimensions are restored. Previously sold as UTP A CELSIT 712 SN.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 R Co3
- AWS classification: A 5.21 ~ER CoCr-B
- Shielding gas: I1
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield.
