WEARtig Co 21 is a cobalt alloy TIG rod for hardfacing, with excellent resistance to metal to metal wear and to thermal shock in corrosive environments. The hardness is approximately 32 HRC.
You feed the filler into the pool by hand while the arc burns between the tungsten electrode and the weld. The rod is meant for hardfacing surfaces exposed to abrasion and for building up working faces in maintenance work. Previously sold as UTP A CELSIT 721.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 R Z Co1
- AWS classification: A 5.21 ER CoCr-E
- Shielding gas: I1
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads.
