3Dprint AM 059 is a solid MIG/MAG welding wire for nickel alloys. It works on boiler and furnace parts, chemical plant and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
The wire suits hand work with a semiautomatic torch and mechanised stations, and it also serves in WAAM additive manufacturing. It goes on tanks and piping in nickel alloys, and for cladding steel surfaces.
- AWS classification: NiCr23Mo16 - ERNiCrMo-13 - 2.4607
Run the pool more slowly than on steel, nickel alloys are sluggish and will not flow out to the edges of the groove on their own. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Degrease the joint before welding, sulphur and lead compounds left after machining lead to hot cracking in nickel.
