3Dprint AM 410 NiMo is a solid MIG/MAG wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It works on pressure vessels, process piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.
The wire suits hand work with a semiautomatic torch and mechanised stations, and it also serves in WAAM additive manufacturing. Typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
- AWS classification: AISi 410 - X3CrNi13-4
- Diameters: 1.0 / 1.2 / 5.9 mm
Keep the interpass temperature low and the beads narrow, overheating austenitic steel promotes carbide precipitation and distortion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
