3Dprint AM 50 is a low-alloyed solid wire for WAAM additive manufacturing in cryogenic service. It also welds low-temperature nickel steels on liquefied gas tanks, cryogenic plant and refrigeration equipment.
The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, and it also serves in WAAM additive manufacturing. The deposit keeps its toughness in the cryogenic range, so it goes on tanks and plant for liquefied gases.
- AWS classification: S500 - 10NiMnSi5-5
- Diameters: 1.0 / 1.2 / 5.28 mm
Run narrow beads without wide weaving, so the weld keeps its fine grained structure. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
