3Dprint AM Al2219 is an aluminium solid wire for WAAM additive manufacturing. It also welds aluminium and its alloys on frames, tanks, housings and light structures.
The wire runs under shielding gas, fed continuously from a semiautomatic torch, and it is also used in WAAM additive manufacturing. It goes into transport, the food industry and structures built to resist atmospheric corrosion.
- AWS classification: AlCu6MnZrTi - Al2219
- Diameters: 1.0 / 1.2 / 5.10 mm
Push the torch and keep the wire path in the feeder short and straight, aluminium coils up easily in the liner. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
