3Dprint AM Tool 40 is a low-alloyed, wear resistant solid wire for WAAM additive manufacturing.
The wire runs under shielding gas, fed continuously from a semiautomatic torch, by hand and on mechanised stations. It rebuilds shafts, rollers, screws, blades and surfaces working under abrasion, in maintenance work and on worn parts.
- AWS classification: FE3 - 40-T
- Diameters: 1.0 / 1.2 mm
On hard deposits expect a network of shrinkage cracks, on working overlays that is normal, but it must not reach the parent material. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
