BÖHLER C 9 MV-IG is a solid MIG/MAG wire for welding creep-resistant CrMo steels. It is used in boiler, pressure vessel and petrochemical plant construction.
It joins materials such as 1.4903 and ASTM A 335, on boilers and pressure vessels under technical inspection and in power generation, on superheaters, headers and pressure piping in chromium molybdenum steel.
- Classification EN ISO: G CrMo91
- AWS classification: ER90S-B9
- Diameters: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm
Plan the preheating and the post weld heat treatment to the WPS for the grade in hand, CrMo steels harden in the heat affected zone. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
