BÖHLER DCMS-IG is a low-alloyed, creep resistant solid wire. It suits welding CrMo steels in power generation, on superheaters, headers and pressure piping in chromium molybdenum steel.
It joins grades such as 1.7335, 13CrMo4-5, 1.7262, 15CrMo5, 1.7728, 16CrMoV4 and 1.7218 together with their equivalents, and the deposit stands up to creep at elevated temperature.

Watch the hydrogen level, dry consumables and a preheated groove are the basic protection against cold cracking. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
