What BÖHLER NiCu 1-IG solid MIG/MAG wire is used for

BÖHLER NiCu 1-IG is a low-alloyed solid wire for weathering steel. It works on mobile structures, machine frames, cranes and parts built for a lower own weight.

It is used on grades such as S235JRW and ASTM A 588. The wire runs under shielding gas, fed continuously from a semiautomatic torch, by hand and on mechanised stations.

Do not exceed the permitted interpass temperature, an overheated heat affected zone loses its toughness. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
