BÖHLER CAT 430L Cb-IG is a high-alloyed ferritic stainless solid wire. It works on pressure vessels, process piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.
It is used on grades such as 1.4016, X6Cr17, 1.4511, X3CrNb17, UNS S43000 and AISI 430, and the deposit has a ferritic structure.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
