BÖHLER CN 23/12-IG is a solid MIG/MAG wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. Typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
It joins materials such as S500N, by hand with a semiautomatic torch and on mechanised stations, and it goes on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
