BÖHLER EAS 2-IG (Si) is a solid MIG/MAG wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
It joins grades such as 1.4306, X2CrNi19-11, 1.4301, X5CrNi18-10, 1.4311, 1.4312 and 1.4541 together with their equivalents. The deposit keeps its toughness in the cryogenic range, so it goes on tanks and plant for liquefied gases, and its composition protects the joint against intergranular corrosion.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind.
