BÖHLER EMK 4-Ultra is a solid MIG/MAG electrode wire for mild and low-alloy steels, fine-grained grades included. It is used on steel structures, tanks, machine frames and workshop work on black steel.
Among the parent materials it covers S235JR, S355JR, S235J0, S355J0, S235J2, S355J2 and S275N. The wire runs well on robot and mechanised stations.

Match the voltage to the wire feed speed, too low a setting gives a convex face and no fusion into the edges. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
