BÖHLER EMK 8 is a solid wire for mild steel of the G4 Si 1 type. It is used on steel structures, tanks, machine frames and workshop work on black steel.
It joins grades such as S235JR, S355JR, S235J0, S355J0, S450J0, S235J2 and S355J2 together with their equivalents. The copper coated surface improves current transfer in the tip and the feeding, and the wire runs well on robot and mechanised stations.

Clean rust, paint and grease out of the groove, contaminated plate gives porosity even with well set parameters. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion.
