BÖHLER EMK 8-Ultra is a solid MIG/MAG welding wire for mild and low-alloy steels, fine-grained grades included. It is used in structural steelwork, on tanks, piping and series production.
It joins grades such as S235JR, S355JR, S235J0, S355J0, S450J0, S235J2 and S355J2 together with their equivalents, and the wire runs well on robot and mechanised stations.

On thicker parts and in a cold workshop plan preheating to cut the risk of cold cracking. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
