BÖHLER FOX CN 13/4 Supra is a basic coated, cored wire alloyed, low hydrogen electrode of the E 13 4 B / E410NiMo-15 type. It is intended for soft martensitic and martensitic ferritic rolled, forged and cast steels, mainly in the construction of hydro turbines and compressors.
The base grades are 1.4313 (X3CrNiMo13-4), 1.4317 (GX4CrNi13-4) and 1.4407 (GX5CrNiMo13-4). The corrosion resistance matches 13Cr and 13CrNi steels of a similar composition. The balanced alloy composition gives good ductility and crack resistance despite the high strength, the slag detaches very easily, the bead comes out smooth and the hydrogen content in the deposit stays below 5 ml per 100 g.
- Classification EN ISO 3581-A: E 13 4 B 4 2
- AWS classification A5.4 / SFA-5.4: E410NiMo-15
- Coating: basic
- Current: DC+
- Diameters: 3.2 / 4.0 mm
- Lengths: 350 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (01581), CE
A cored wire gives an even deposit composition even when the current varies, but it does not change the thermal regime: preheating, interpass control and post weld tempering apply just the same. Dry the electrodes to the maker data sheet. For site work and frequent arc breaks the maker recommends BÖHLER FOX CN 13/4, which re-strikes more easily.
