BÖHLER FOX CN 25/9 CuT is a basic electrode of the E 25 9 4 N L B / E2595-15 type for welding ferritic austenitic superduplex steels. The maker points it above all at the conditions found in offshore installations.
The base materials include 1.4410 (X2CrNiMoN25-7-4), 1.4467 (X2CrMnNiMoN26-5-4) and 1.4468 (GX2CrNiMoN25-6-3). Besides high tensile strength and toughness, the alloy composition gives the deposit excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. The operating temperature range is minus 50 to 250 degrees C.

This is a basic electrode, so drying to the maker data sheet and a quiver at the workstation are compulsory. Weld on direct current with the electrode positive, a short arc and beads without wide weaving. Do not overheat superduplex: watch the interpass temperature and do not speed the job up by raising the current.
