What BÖHLER FOX ETI stick electrode is used for

BÖHLER FOX ETI is a rutile coated electrode of the E6013 type for everyday work on unalloyed steels. You weld with it in all positions except vertical-down, and the long list of classification society approvals opens the way to shipyards and to structures inspected by a surveyor.

The base materials are S235JR to S355JR, S235JO to S355JO, P195TR1 to P265TR1, P195GH to P265GH as well as the pipe grades L245NB to L360NB and L245MB to L360MB. The bead comes out very smooth, the slag detaches by itself and there is little spatter. The electrode runs particularly calmly on AC, strikes easily and returns to the arc after a break, so it suits simple transformer welding sets. One stick lays a long run of weld.

  • Coating: rutile
  • Current: AC/DC-
  • Diameters: 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.2 / 4.0 / 5.0 mm
  • Lengths: 300, 350 and 450 mm
  • Approvals: TÜV (01097), DB (10.014.102/01), ABS, BV, DNV, LR, CE

On DC connect the holder to the negative pole, as the manufacturer states. A rutile coating forgives minor contamination, but grind off rust and paint anyway, or you will get porosity. On thin sheet reduce the current and travel faster, so as not to burn through the material. Store the electrodes in a dry place, and dry damp ones to the data sheet before you go back to work.
