BÖHLER FOX EV 70 is a basic coated electrode with a MoNi deposit, of the E9018-D1 H4R type, with high ductility and crack resistance. The manufacturer directs it to high strength fine grained steels working at temperatures from -60 degrees C to plus 350 degrees C.
The range of base material is S460Q to S555Q, S460QL to S550QL, S460QL1 to S550QL1, the pipe grades L415MB to L555MB and L415QB to L555QB, and S460N. The manufacturer puts the metal recovery at about 115 percent. All positions except vertical-down are permitted. The coating does not take up moisture, so the diffusible hydrogen stays below 4 ml per 100 g.

Service at elevated temperature calls for a stable deposit composition, so do not mix electrode grades in one joint. Lay thin layers with the interpass temperature measured, and on heavier plate preheat the part. Keep any weaving to two electrode diameters. Use an opened pack within the shift or put the electrodes back in the quiver.
