BÖHLER FOX KE is an electrode with a rutile-cellulosic coating, of the E6013 type, engineered for easy handling in all positions, vertical-down included. The manufacturer directs it to general work on steel structures.
The manufacturer names the steels S235JR to S355JR and S235JO to S355JO, the boiler grades P195TR1 to P265TR1 and P195GH to P265GH, as well as the pipe grades L245NB to L360NB and L245MB to L360MB. The cellulose in the coating raises the penetration and the bead stays flat. The electrode runs calmly on alternating current, lights at the first touch and returns to the arc after a break without resistance.
- Classification EN ISO 2560-A: E 38 0 RC 1 1
- AWS classification A5.1 / SFA-5.1: E6013
- Coating: rutile-cellulosic
- Current: AC/DC-
- Diameters: 2.0 / 2.5 / 4.0 mm
- Lengths: 250, 350 and 450 mm
- Approvals: LR (2m)
The vertical-down position is allowed here, but it calls for fast travel and a short arc, otherwise the slag will get into the weld. For tacking and short assembly welds this electrode suits better than a basic one, because it strikes at once, without the tip sticking. On DC connect the holder to the negative pole. Do not turn the current up to work faster: the penetration is considerable as it is, and surplus amps end in undercut.
