BÖHLER Q G 4 is a solid wire for mild steel. It suits welding mild and low-alloy steels in structural steelwork, on tanks, piping and series production.
Among the parent materials it covers S235JR, S355JR, S235J0, S355J0, S450J0, S235J2 and S355J2. The wire is used in shipbuilding and vessel repair and on boilers and pressure vessels under technical inspection.

On thicker parts and in a cold workshop plan preheating to cut the risk of cold cracking. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc.
