Thermanit 625 is a TIG rod for welding nickel alloys. It works on boiler components, furnace parts, chemical installations and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
The rod joins grades such as UNS S31254, UNS N08800, UNS N08810, UNS N06600, NiCr15Fe, UNS N06625 and NiCr22Mo, along with related materials. Its deposit keeps its impact toughness down to cryogenic temperatures, and the rod also suits cladding runs on steel.

Keep the interpass temperature low and limit weaving, nickel is prone to hot cracking. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
